what to do when your lg g3 doesnt accept the sim card

  1. jfitty's Avatar

Over the past couple months, my LG G3 (Verizon Wireless, Android vi.0) has been experiencing repeating SIM card issues. I get messages that say my "SIM Bill of fare is not readable". or "SIM Card not found". This can happen in one case every iii days, or 6 times a day. Sometimes back to dorsum (subsequently restarting the telephone). I accept taken the card out and put it back in, and installed a new SIM card from VZW with no success. I have a third new SIM card waiting at home to install.

Any ideas out there on what could exist going on and how to fix it? I am thinking it is a h/w issue with the telephone itself.

    Give thanks yous!

In between the errors and multiple SIM replacements, have you lot performed a Factory Reset? Someday an bibelot repeats, it is best to support your data and performed the alternating version of the factory reset, which you can Google. It is the reset performed when the device is powered off. If you accept done the alternate (not inside Settings), endure no more. Get a Verizon replacement.

I am currently trying the VZW Software Repair Assistant to come across if information technology helps...

I chatted with VZW Support today...this is what he told me.

JEREMY : I'm going to provide another link, it's called the Software Repair Banana, it's where you plug the telephone into the computer and install this software.. It is similar a factory reset, but what it does, installs a fresh copy of the software onto the phone... Then don't take to do information technology, simply another matter to try to fix this problem for you

JEREMY : Repair Assistant - Software Upgrade Assistant (LG) | Verizon Wireless

You lot : should I try that before the factory reset?

JEREMY : If it has no issues installing onto your computer and running information technology, I would go with it.

JEREMY : I just wanted to brand sure yous go both options

Over the by couple months, my LG G3 (Verizon Wireless, Android 6.0) has been experiencing repeating SIM menu problems. I become messages that say my "SIM Menu is not readable". or "SIM Card not found". This tin happen in one case every 3 days, or 6 times a twenty-four hours. Sometimes back to back (after restarting the phone). I accept taken the card out and put it back in, and installed a new SIM carte du jour from VZW with no success. I accept a 3rd new SIM card waiting at home to install.

Any ideas out at that place on what could be going on and how to fix it? I am thinking it is a h/w issue with the phone itself.

    Thank you!

I had like problem. Mine solved past doing this. Information technology may help yous.

Somebody brought me a LG G3 to look at, they had the sim try replaced and e'er since it stopped reading the simcard. Verizon was unhelpful, the telephone is out of warrenty.

This video is not helpful for me, I put my AT&T sim in and it worked, rumor has it is that the LG G3 is unlocked, is this true?

So another words, at that place is no problem reading the sim if mine worked, picked up a network using global and was able to make phonecalls. The trouble is that it is not reading the sim, and yes the sim is registered on Verizon network. Was wondering if possibly re flashing (downgrading) the firmware might help, since the modem is included in the flash.

Thank you for the video. That solved my problem. Been using my telephone but fine, and and so all of a sudden "no SIM card." Chosen Verizon and 43 minutes later on notwithstanding no solution. SIM carte worked when I put in my old phone. Tried the piece of paper and now I take my phone dorsum. Thanks Farhan and Android Key (again).

Welp, my SIM card went out again today. Took out the one-time (4 days) paper and put in a new slip and information technology works again. I don't take coin to buy an equivalent phone, simply if I did, does anyone accept a proffer for cheap? I don't desire anything smaller than a five.five" screen and it has to work on Verizon.

    Thanks!

I am experiencing the same consequence from time to time on my rooted (never will do it again!) Dual bill of fare Lenovo A6000 where the problem is happening for one and every time same card only. The second card slot works normally all the time.

Equally I use the sim card too in my second phone Samsung sometimes where is just micro size slot so after changing phone for Lenovo where is bigger sim card slot and this is what could be the problem.

If sim card is taken out from the bigger frame adjacent time you put information technology dorsum again the card seems to not fit exactly in original frame. I accept just put the paper in the slot and will see if problem persists.

I have but put the newspaper in the slot and will encounter if problem persists.

Seems that mine allows the sim bill of fare to slide in also deep, not registering the sim. My guess is drops allow the card to motility.

I take been using the paper play tricks, plus I leave the sim card stickling out slightly every bit I insert the battery. By doing this the battery inserts the sim card flush where my phone reads the VZW carte 3 times, as well every bit an AT&T card.

I will update if this changes.
